After graduating I attended Ashland College. 1969 I married my Air Force penpal Craig. We moved to Miami, Florida where he was an Air Traffic Controller. After our fits the son was born I returned to college in the early seventies at Florida International University and earned my Bachelors Degree in Home Economics. We had twins in 1978 and fortunately my husband worked shift work as an Air Traffic Controller so he was a big help at home. When all the kids were in school I worked as a graduate assistant while completing a Masters in Vocational Home Economics Education also at Florida International University.
Right after graduation I taught at Homestead Senior High in Florida until we moved to Georgia in 1991. Once we were settled in Georgia I taught in Clayton County for 12 years.
In 2002 my husband and I both retired. We helped watch grandkids until we moved full-time to the lake. We live on Lake Sinclair in Eatonton and are active in our church, spend time with all the family, and participate in lots of activities in our community.
We also like to travel but don't have much opportunity because we both work part-time. Our bank has a travel club and we have been to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and Bejing. I'm looking forward to traveling around the United States and seeing more of the west.
Every winter I remember going to football games in the chilly fall nights wearing wool Bermuda shorts, knee socks , and saddle shoes with a yellow mum pinned to our sweaters. Brrrr
I also remember being the one who bought all the tickets to get into the Berea show for child's rates because I had such a "baby face". After the movie we would drive out to Manners Big Boy Drive-In to see who was there and get a night time snack. I frequently called home to get my curfew extended because I wanted to hang out.
